Are you more productive with music on?

Dr Anneli Haake worked with Total Jobs and Deezer to look at the science behind music in the workplace

Music to my ears? Research has found that 79 per cent of people are more productive with music on.

When we’re stimulated, our creativity is boosted, and music can aid this, but too much and our work slips. Generally, extroverts’ performance peaks with high background activity, but less so for introverts – showing how two people can have very different reactions to the same office noise.

The results of the research were taken from a music quiz where you can test whether you should listen to music at work and if so what kind of music you might want to listen to.
