Triyoga in action: fundraiser in aid of Magic Breakfast

On 10 December triyoga takes action for hungry children in need with their fundraiser, supporting the life-changing charity, Magic Breakfast

by Ellen Tout

Magic Breakfast was founded by Carmel McConnell after researching for a book – Carmel learned that half a million children across the UK are affected every day because they arrive at school too hungry to learn. The charity believes that a hungry child cannot concentrate therefore they do not have the opportunity to learn and succeed in life.

After realising the high demand for help, Carmel re-mortgaged her house and set up Magic Breakfast as the first stage in a global approach to give every hungry child a good breakfast and fuel for learning.

Magic Breakfast works with 480 schools across the country providing breakfast to 23,500 children a day. It costs just 22 pence for the charity to provide a nutritious breakfast and change a child's life. For the price of a latté, Magic Breakfast can provide breakfast to a child for a whole month, but with over 300 schools on Magic Breakfast's waiting list, there is still lots of work to do.

The evening fundraiser will include a special kirtan, meditation, music, delicious food and drink, and raffle prizes including:

  • Festival tickets
  • Dining experiences
  • Treatments
  • Artwork
  • And much more

Price: £30 (enough to fund 136 children's breakfasts!)

When: Saturday 10 December 2016, 7.00 to 9.00pm

Where: Triyoga in Camden

Tickets: Click here to find out more and book tickets.
