Support the Sides of March campaign

According to the World Health Organisation, every 40 seconds a person commits suicide somewhere in the world. After their friend tragically committed suicide, one group of people have turned their loss into a campaign to raise awareness of male suicide

The Sides of March campaign challenges men to grow the most impressive sideburns throughout the month of March. The campaign aims to increase awareness of male suicide and raise funds for CALM. If you don’t fancy growing sideburns (fair enough, girls!) then you can show your support on their fundraising page.

Chi Anyanwu, one of the founders said: ‘Suicide is the single biggest killer of men under the age of 45 in the UK and at an alarming rate of over 12 men a day. This is such a big problem and not that many people are aware of just how big an issue it is.

‘We recently lost one of our best friends to suicide and our group has come together to raise awareness and funds to help others affected by it. The concept is simple, fun and above all for a great cause. During March, join us in growing our sideburns as a fundraising event alongside all year campaigning.

‘We are trying to raise awareness in conjunction with some incredible charities already fighting for the prevention of suicides. Together we can all make a real difference.’

The Sides of March is a foundation set up to raise awareness of male suicide. All funds raised will be donated to CALM, the campaign against living miserably.
