The world is an increasingly confusing and sometimes worrying place, running 24/7 at breakneck speed. We don’t know where we are going, but we are hurrying there as fast as possible, dashing from A to B, focused on our screens and our problems.
Street Wisdom is a not-for-profit social enterprise, now in 30 countries and counting, based on the simple but powerful proposition that the environment and people around us are full of wisdom we largely ignore. A three-hour guided immersive urban walk using a mix of psychology, mindfulness and cognitive science, it will teach you how to use the city streets to find fresh answers to important life and work questions.
Founded by best-selling author, speaker and business innovator, David Pearl, Street Wisdom has become a global phenomenon, bringing people life-changing results. This short film explains how it all works.
Already international, we want to go really ‘global’ and stage the inaugural Street Wisdom World Wide Wander to make this a healthier, happier world for everyone. The more people we involve, the more positive energy it will create, and we will all feel like we are part of something bigger. Together.
Street Wisdom is now working with businesses that want to share the technology with their people. All profits from this growing corporate work go towards keeping the public version of Street Wisdom free to use, and support Street Wisdom’s mission ‘to bring inspiration to every street on earth’.
Join us on either September 8, 9 or 10. You will be able to attend an existing Street Wisdom session or run your own. It’s easy and free to set up, all you need is a street! We’ll supply everything you need to help you get up and running (or should we say wandering?).
If you can’t get to an event you can download your own mini taster session which will teach you the skills you need to find clarity and inspiration right on your doorstep! This is normally for a donation of £5.99, but for Psychologies readers we have a special World Wide Wander price of £2.99. Download here.
What fellow wanderers say about Street Wisdom
‘The experience is an amazing opportunity to slow down, be in the now for a few hours and to let that spaciousness help with an important question that has been on your mind. The ability to share your experience and insights (not mandatory!) is incredibly therapeutic. Highly recommended!’ Robert
‘As one of the participants of a Street Wisdom session, I have to say I really enjoyed it. I have tried mindfulness already a few times, but I find it hard to slow down and sit still. Street Wisdom was a new way for me to find perspective, but in a more active way and with the benefit of feeling completely calm and serene after.’ Sabrina
‘Often the wisdom we search for is right in front of us, literally under our noses looking right back at us. But we are too busy and caught up in the noise of life to see it. The simple, yet very powerful, technique enabled me to slow down, tune in and get connected with my environment, new people, new and old places, but most importantly with myself. And I am richer for it. Thank you!’ Sally
