Rebecca Campbell was creative director of an advertising agency by 30. But she was in the ‘spiritual closet’ and in 2013 set up a spiritual coaching business. 'Light is the New Black' (Hay House, £10.99) is her new book
1. Start the day with ‘sourcing’
At the same time every day, listen to a piece of music you like. Rub your hands together, sit with your palms up, in receiving mode. Imagine a massive ball of light entering the crown of your head. Visualise this channel of light infusing every cell of your body, down to the tips of your toes and filling your heart. In this way, we become fully charged for the day.
2. Follow what lights you up
Ask yourself: ‘what do I love most?’ Three years ago, when spiritual teacher Sonia Choquette asked me this question, the answer I got was ‘flowers’. I thought: ‘what’s that got to do with anything?’ But I decided to try it. I gave myself a weekly flower budget and I’d surround myself with roses and peonies. I started posting photos on Instagram and mixing the images with words, which led to my blog and eventually a book deal.
3. Do what scares you
Author Steven Pressfield says: ‘The more important a call or action is to our soul’s evolution, the more resistance we will feel toward pursuing it.’ The more we leap and dance through fear, the more we discover it’s actually exhilarating. The scariest thing is actually not doing anything about it.
