Is dad setting a good example?

Fathers who share household chores have a positive impact on their daughters' views on gender equality

Is dad setting a good example?

We may believe our mothers' views on gender-equality shaped our own outlook growing up, and while there has been plenty of research in that field, a recent study from the University of British Columbia suggests the most influential factor in determining how we view ourselves as women is our fathers' attitude towards housework.

The research, which examined data on more than 300 children aged between seven and 13, found that girls with fathers who shared the household chores aspired to careers in less traditional, more male-dominated and potentially higher-paying fields.
