Beetroot is rich in iron and folate (vitamin B9) and vitamin B6.

Interestingly, if you are low in iron you may experience beeturia - a reddening of the urine. This isn't harmful, but may well indicate you need more iron so try adding this smoothie to your daily diet.

To make the Grace Upbeet smoothie, blend:

150ml fresh beetroot pressed (2 small)

200ml almond milk

1 tbsp Greek/coconut yogurt

½ avocado

1 tsp Manuka honey

½ lemon

A generous pinch cinnamon

1 tsp acai berry

4 ice cubes
